The Prez (Todd) arrived first at about 5:30. Other gamers trickled in from then on. At about 6:00 the floods came. Downpour after downpour hit the area. At 6:45 someone made the comment that it might be a weak night as the crowd was small ... YET ... when we counted we had 28 gamers !!! Gamers came and went and we think that there were more than 41 but that is what the sign up list had on it. I left at midnight and gaming was going on strong. MOSSL OFFICE - 08/01/03 - 34 gamers in attendance. - Hot Time Tonight !!!
Hope y'all had a grand time in Baltimore and are coming home with enough "wood" to stoke the CABS fires for years to come. We held the fort down on Friday.  All sorts of stuff being played. Since I don't have AC at my place, I thought the AC was a nice touch, but the others were less impressed. We ended up opening the doors after the sun set and that did seem much better. I snuck out a one point victory in a Union Pacific game (thanks to UP stock) to finally win my first CABS game. Then we gave Royal Turf a good workout from my collection trying both blind (much preferred) and open bidding.
Much yelling and cheering over that one. Then I got caught up in an endless Settlers of Catan where the resources that were needed never ever (and I mean ever) came up. Man, did that drag. Funny how even a classic can suck sometimes. Closed out the night with Danny playing Chrononauts which was as much fun to play as it was to see that Danny had memorized all the character cards. Probably got out of there around 2AM with a smile on my face as usual....Not bad at all for an "off" night...     Paul

Games Played: Invasion: America (spi), Settlers of Cataan, Union Pacific, Wooly Bully, Gigantum, Paths of Glory, Medici, Royal Turf, Crimson Skies,  Phoenix, Carcassonne, Lunar Rails, Puerto Rico, Chrononauts

Room closed and last gamers out at 2:30 a.m. - Nine hours of gaming - not bad for a Friday Night !!!
